Get Covered Coalition

GET COVERED COALITION

WHO WE ARE

Coverage that Cares for South Dakota

Mission:
Our mission is to harness the collective power of personal stories and strategic partnerships to drive impactful improvements in awareness and ease of enrollment in health coverage.

Vision:
We envision a health coverage system that is equitable, accessible, and responsive to the needs of all. Together, we will increase awareness about the availability of affordable, comprehensive health coverage, connect people with the help they need to get enrolled, and work together to reduce the barriers that prevent people from getting covered.

WHY MEDICAID MATTERS

Medicaid provides essential health coverage to thousands of low-income individuals and families in SD, significantly improving their quality of life. By covering medical expenses, Medicaid ensures access to necessary healthcare services, including preventive care, treatments, and emergency services, which can reduce the burden of untreated conditions and promote overall well-being. This coverage not only helps individuals lead healthier lives but also strengthens communities by reducing health disparities, lowering rates of preventable diseases, and supporting economic stability. When people are healthier and able to work, communities thrive, creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone.

GET INVOLVED

Attend the Kick-Off on September 3

Join us as we kick off the Get Covered Coalition on Tuesday, September 3, in Sioux Falls and virtually. At the kick-off event, you’ll hear firsthand accounts of lives transformed by access to Medicaid, connect with others just as passionate as you about access to coverage, and learn about opportunities to engage in awareness-raising, advocacy, and more.

RAISE AWARENESS

Most South Dakotans qualify for affordable health insurance, either through Medicaid or Marketplace. Help raise awareness about affordable, comprehensive insurance options and enrollment assistance.
