Looking Ahead: CHAD’s 2026 Approach to Connection, Collaboration, and Impact

By Lindsey Karlson, Director of Programs and Training

As we plan for the year ahead, CHAD is excited to share an update on how we’ll be supporting—and celebrating—our incredible health center teams in 2026.

After thoughtful consideration, CHAD will not host an annual conference in 2026. We know the past few years have brought financial pressures, workforce shortages, and shifting priorities to every corner of our health center community. Rather than add to the strain, we’re choosing a path that allows us to stay focused, flexible, and deeply aligned with what matters most right now.

Small but Mighty—And Worth Protecting
Our health center teams continue to do extraordinary work with limited resources. You are small but mighty, and we see the dedication, stamina, and heart you bring to your communities every single day. In 2026, we want to honor that reality—and avoid contributing to burnout—by offering smaller, strategic gatherings that are easier to attend and directly connected to your evolving needs.

What’s Ahead in 2026
Instead of one large annual event, CHAD will host a series of targeted, in-person convenings designed to bring the right people together at the right time for meaningful networking and shared learning.

  • CHAD will host the Great Plains Clinically Integrated Network (GPCIN) Summit & Strategy Meeting on April 28–30, Rapid City SD. This time will be an opportunity to launch and shape the work of the newly formed CIN. Health center leadership teams – including CEOs, clinical, quality and finance leaders should plan to attend.
  • CHAD will host a strategic planning session with the CHAD Board of Directors in Fall 2026. This time will set priorities and strengthen CHAD’s direction for the years ahead.

In addition, CHAD will be finalizing focused trainings for specific network teams- stay tuned for more details!

We can’t wait to see you at one—or many—of these energizing gatherings. And don’t worry—we’re already looking forward to bringing everyone back together for our Annual Conference in 2027!

Walking With You Through 2026
The Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) remains steadfast in our mission: to support health centers in providing high-quality, reliable, affordable health care for every person, in every community. We’re honored to walk alongside you in 2026 as we focus on work that uplifts, empowers, and strengthens the essential role of health centers across the region.

Here’s to a year of meaningful connection, strategic progress, and shared commitment to the communities we serve.
