Substance use concerns are complex—and so are the lives of the people experiencing them. In this session, Dr. David Bauman shared a compassionate, person-centered approach to supporting patients with substance use challenges in the primary care setting.
Drawing on current data, contextual behavioral science, and evidence-based screening and intervention strategies, this presentation invited clinicians to look beyond the behavior itself and understand the story behind it. Participants gained practical tools for engaging patients in meaningful and effective care.
