Protect Access to Health Care for South Dakotans

Right now, South Dakota lawmakers are considering legislation that would bring financial stability to South Dakota’s health centers and ensure they can continue providing the full range of high-quality primary and preventative care to South Dakotans who need it most – including behavioral health, dental, and medical care. HB1150 would provide fair Medicaid payments to health centers and is urgently needed to protect the future of health care in our communities.

Your voice can help make sure our elected officials understand how much health centers mean to South Dakotans.

Sample Message:

Dear Legislator,
I am writing as your constituent to express my strong support for federally qualified health centers, who provide high-quality primary and preventative care – including behavioral health, dental, and medical services to over 126,000 South Dakotans. In particular, I’d like to ask you to co-sponsor and support HB1150 which would fix the Medicaid funding gap that pays health centers just 60% of the cost of providing care. Your support will help ensure that access to local health care will continue to be there for our community when we need it most.

[Optional: Personalize your message with a short note about why your health center matters to your community.]

Sincerely,
