Johnny Overcame Opioid Addiction with the Support of Medicaid

Medicaid has helped me get the treatment I needed to deal with addiction issues.

I had to have surgery a few years back. Post-surgery I was prescribed lots of opioid pain medicine. I was on it for years then was cut off and left to deal with the newfound addiction it gave me. They (the doctors) didn’t help me with that part of it, so I dealt with it on my own in an unhealthy way. I went along like that for years, until I received Medicaid and was able to get help. Medicaid has helped me get the treatment I needed to deal with addiction issues. Because of that I have been clean and sober for about a year now. Without it, I would probably be struggling still. I’m able to get the medication I need to help me stay off street drugs.
