Johnson Announces Funding for Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) announced today that the Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas will receive a $431,795 federal grant from the Department of Health and Human Services. The funding will be used to provide resources to community health centers in South Dakota and North Dakota.

“Community health centers are a critical part of our health care safety net, particularly in rural areas. This funding will help ensure that community health centers across our state continue providing important services,” said Johnson. “A key part of my Hometown Prosperity Plan is investing in the public good, and this funding is a wonderful example of an investment that will help South Dakotans.”

The Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas has offices in both Sioux Falls and Fort Pierre.

Senator Johnson's Hometown Prosperity Plan is a four-pillar agenda for advancing South Dakota's economy from the federal level. The four pillars, or strategies, include "Promoting Partnerships," "Emphasizing Entrepreneurship," "Investing in the Public Good," and "Protecting Pocketbooks." The full plan includes specific actions related to each strategy and can be downloaded from http://johnson.senate.gov.
