Smile Mobile Funded Through Wellmark Foundation
The Wellmark Foundation of South Dakota and Iowa has awarded the Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas (CHAD) funds to allow the Smile Mobile to visit the 23 communities served by the community health center networks of Prairie Community Health, Rural Health Care, Inc., and Horizon Health Care, Inc.
The Smile Mobile, facilitated through Delta Dental, will provide dental care to uninsured and Medicaid patients. The community health center networks will provide matching staff time and resources to the Smile Mobile in order to meet the dental needs of health center patients.
This two-year grant will serve as bridge funds until additional oral health expansion funds are available from the Health Resources and Services Administration to expand community health center oral health services. For more information on the Smile Mobile, check out the web site.
